RefundRadar scores every Shopify order for fraud and chargeback risk the moment it's placed. Disposable email, address mismatches, velocity, customer history — a weighted score and a plain-English why, in under 2 seconds.
Each order is checked against 20+ fraud signals. Those signals are weighted into a Low / Medium / High score, then explained in one sentence you can act on.
Detects 120+ disposable inboxes (Guerrillamail, Tempmail, Mailinator), misspelled lookalikes like gmial.com, and emails that don't match the name on the card. Shopify's fraud check does not do this.
Billing vs shipping name, city/state/zip/country, PO Boxes, UPS Store / PMB mail drops, and freight forwarders (Shipito, MyUS, Stackry). Reshipper addresses are a classic "steal it and bounce it overseas" pattern Shopify does not flag.
Checks past orders from the same email. Repeat customers with clean history get their risk score reduced — they've earned trust. Previous high-risk flags increase the score.
Detects multiple orders from the same email in 24 hours. Three or more orders from one customer in a day is a classic fraud pattern that most tools miss entirely.
Compares each order to your store's average. A $500 order from a store that normally does $30 orders gets automatically flagged — up to 5x weighting for extreme values.
Crypto, cash, and gift cards score higher. PayPal is medium (buyer protection abuse). Overnight shipping on a first high-value order is treated as extra risk — another pattern Shopify's bar does not call out.
Flags bulk orders (10+ items), all-same-product orders (resale indicator), and high-value individual items. Quantity patterns reveal intent that order value alone misses.
Heavy discounts on first orders and multiple coupon codes are correlated with higher chargeback rates. First-time buyers using 50%+ discounts are flagged for review.
Shopify's built-in fraud analysis checks a handful of basics. RefundRadar checks 20+ fraud signals and weights them so you get one score you can review.

We run 20+ signals Shopify skips — throwaway emails, freight forwarders, name mismatches, overnight-on-first-order — then give you Low / Medium / High and one sentence of why.
High-risk orders trigger an email with the exact flags. You review the dashboard and choose whether to ship, hold, or cancel — before the package leaves.

Hold fulfillment on High-risk orders until you've looked at the flags. Don't auto-cancel — most stores want a human in the loop.
Read the sentence and the flags — disposable email, name mismatch, velocity, first order. That's the evidence. You already know how to judge your own customers.
Ship, hold for more info, or cancel in Shopify yourself. RefundRadar never writes back to your store.
Practical guides for Shopify store owners who want to catch bad orders before they ship.
I'm Miles. I go to UGA. I built RefundRadar.
A few store owners told me the same week: they packed an order that looked normal, Shopify marked it low risk, and two weeks later the money was gone. Throwaway email. Name on the box didn't match the card. Three orders from the same person in one day. Nobody flagged it in time.
So I made a scorer that checks that stuff and emails you before you print the label. I don't cancel orders. That's your call.
